School’s Vision

A thriving, aspirational community rooted in God’s love.

Our school’s Mission Statement

Love your neighbour as you love yourself

(Matthew 22:39)

Who we are, what we do as a school and who we wish to be is captured in our vision- we are a thriving, aspirational community rooted in God’s love.  We all, children, staff and our wider community alike, have a mission that is to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.  As such, each and every individual in our community is loved and valued as a creation of God, made in His image to work towards His kingdom (Genesis 1:26,27).  This speaks of worth, humility, gratitude, love and hope. It is our distinctive Christian culture to live as Jesus taught us, to love and support all our individuals in developing and sharing their unique God given talents, abilities and skills and to raise aspirations and expectations to live life in all its fullness (John 10:10).

Our culture is interwoven through our actions, words and behaviour and permeates our daily life as we work to provide a full, rich and creative curriculum. It is through our endeavours to create a supportive caring environment in which we hope to enable children to reach their God given potential spiritually, socially, morally and academically. Through high-quality inspiring teaching and wide-ranging opportunities, both within and outside of the classroom, we aim to ignite our children’s love of learning and the world to help them to look beyond themselves and into the wider community.  The parable of The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) helps our community to develop our growing understanding of ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself’ and provides us with the basis of our school’s Christian values. Chosen by the whole of our school community, the Christian values of community, compassion, forgiveness generosity and hope.  Aspects of all these values can be found in this parable however, perhaps more importantly, this parable leaves us with questions – who do we aspire to be, what does God want us to be and how will we live?
