It is such a joy to be a part of Herne Junior CE School, to support and serve alongside members of the church as School Governor and in the life of the school. As a former primary school teacher, my heart and passion for engaging young people and supporting families makes this aspect of ministry in the community at Herne something that helps me to thrive!
As much as we are part of the family at Herne Junior CE School, so too is the school welcomed and loved as part of the family at St Martin-in-Herne.
We are all seeking together to show God’s love to the community and world around us and in all that we do together – both at St Martin’s and at Herne Junior CE School we strive to be “a thriving, aspirational community rooted in God’s love”.
That love is shown in many ways: we have fun and flourish together, we worship together in song and word, we reflect and learn together in faith, we support those in the school community in times of need and we celebrate in times of joy and achievement.
Above all, we walk together in the journey of learning and of life trying to “love our neighbour as ourselves”, the teaching of Jesus which is at the heart of the school’s mission.
