Matthew 5 v 14-16
14 ‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.’
We want to shine as lights, not just in our school but further afield in our families and communities. Many of us have talents and gifts that we can use for the benefit our communities, so we should share them and serve one another. Hopefully our words and actions would have a positive effect on those around us and will encourage and strengthen our community as well as to draw others
Community is important because you can work together and help each other. Being part of a community makes the world a better place to be.
I think community is based on friendship and is about caring for one another.
Flourishing is important because it actually helps our community to grow, to become stronger and healthier. When we flourish, we are able to live out our school values even better.
Mr Saunders leads our community but everyone is equal and precious to God.

Father God,
We thank you for the joy of friendship that holds us together as a community. Please help us to not hide our talents but to share them so that everyone benefits. May we each shine as bright as the summer’s sun that brings love and joy. Amen.

Thank you for our school community and all the adults and children that are part of it. Help us to work together as a big family to build a happy and strong community. May we be kind and treat others as we would like to be treated. Help us to care for others and share God’s love with everyone we meet. Amen.

Please bless our school community and help us achieve the best we can, in everything we do.
Let peace fill our hearts so that all can thrive. May joy overflow in our worship and daily life. Guide us with hope-through the good and bad.
