Early School Closure
It has been agreed with Herne Infants that both schools will close early on Thursday 19th July so that children and families have the opportunity to watch the Olympic torch relay.
The relay will commence at Upstreet at 3.03 pm, therefore the Junior School will close at 2.00 pm.

WELCOME
I am very pleased to welcome you to our website; I hope it provides a sense of the school’s ethos and useful information about our vibrant, thriving learning community.
Herne CE (Aided) Junior School aims to foster a caring, encouraging environment, enabling all members of the school community to grow in self-esteem, individuality and independence, learning and working within a happy, secure environment founded on Christian values. It has been recognised as an effective, forward-thinking school with a remarkable Christian ethos that pervades every aspect of school life and nourishes all pupils.’ (SIAS Inspection 2009)
To be truly successful a school should also focus on the quality of its relationships – our children are valued and nurtured as individuals and we strive to build relationships within the school that are conducted in the light of the Gospel values of care and concern for one another.
To achieve these aims we provide enjoyable, creative learning experiences through a themed, skills-based curriculum, enhanced by a wide range of extra-curricular activities and underpinned by a commitment to pupil well-being. We maintain high expectations of everyone and share a commitment to helping every child succeed whether academically, socially, creatively or in sport. Ecology, the creative arts, PE and school sport are particular strengths of the school, with a very high participation in lunchtime and after school clubs, inter-school competitions and performances.
'I have never seen her so enthusiastic about school!’ (Year 3 parent).
