For each unit of work, the children are assessed based upon the key objectives provided by the Kent Primary Scheme of Work for Science (2014). Each unit also focuses on a key scientific skill including classifying, fair testing, research, observing (including over a period of time) and pattern seeking. Some key skills and objectives may be revisited as the children progress through the school however they are continuously built upon. Teachers use the following assessment steps to assess our children in science.
