Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself’ (Matthew 22:39)
Our vision at Herne CE (Aided) Junior School is:
To encourage and sustain a happy, respectful and tolerant community, whose members grow in self-esteem, confidence and independence, and are inspired for lifelong learning within the security of God’s love through the Christian values of: community, compassion, forgiveness, generosity and hope.
We aim to achieve this by:
Reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.
Seeing all children as individuals, helping them to celebrate and achieve their potential.
Helping children to become caring and responsible citizens.
Fostering a lasting love of learning through creative teaching.
Modelling the Christian values of the school.
All staff and governors were involved in developing our Christian Values.
It is these values that form the foundations at Herne Juniors and underpin everything we do.
Each value is explicitly Christian and linked to Jesus, His example and His teachings, often in the form of parable, to make it memorable.
We celebrate them during our daily worship and explore them through our RE lessons.
Most importantly, we live them out in everything we do.
