Our Houses

On entering Herne Juniors the children are allocated a House to belong to.

Romans (red), Saxons (yellow), Jutes (green) & Danes (blue).

The children gain house-points through good work within the classroom and around school. Each week the total for the week is announced and all house-points gained go towards winning the House Cup at the end of the academic year.

Children also represent their houses in sporting events, such as football and netball, at tournaments held throughout the school year.

Of course, our big sporting event is held in the summer term – The School Sports Day. All children are included in this event, no matter what their sporting abilities are. Parents are also invited to participate in special races with points awarded to the house of their choice.
